  1. To be a center of experts (Hub of Talents) in Post-harvest technology, correlating with quality, safety, and the environment.
  2. To support the significant development of competency and skills (upskill/reskill) and create a network of cooperation with agencies, both within the country and abroad.
  3. To compile a knowledgebase of the internationally recognized experts and researchers in Postharvest technologies, both domestically and internationally.
  4. To collaborate to find solutions to critically urgent problems in Postharvest technology.
  5. To disseminate knowledge for beneficial use.

Coordinate with experts from cooperative networks, both domestic and international, to jointly support, promote, and enhance expertise in Postharvest Technology.Develop research and manpower in post-harvest technology that is in demand domestically and apply knowledge to resolving critical issues. Effectively advocate policies by the Center of Excellence in Post-Harvest Technology, including a group of researchers from the center and researchers in post-harvest technology management, together with a network of domestic and international researchers. Chiang Mai University, as the leader, in collaboration with the 3 universities, including Kasetsart University, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, and Khon Kaen University, work together to gather experts from both the public and private sectors. To initiate Hub of Talents in Post-harvest technology, which receives fiscal support in 2023 from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) under the project of (Hub of talents : Postharvest technology)

Under this project, the experts in various fields of post-harvest technology, both domestic and international, brainstorm and conceptualize their knowledges to help solve critical issues, for example, post-harvest durian management, the problem of losses in post-harvest economic vegetables and problem in the management of agricultural waste. This includes the knowledge-transfer through training, counseling, as well as brainstorming, to initiate in-depth research to resolve post-harvest problems and develop advanced research with laboratory standards for analysis and certification, etc.

Moreover, the hub comprises experts in post-harvest technology, focusing on increasing the potential in various areas and develops websites to share knowledge, publicize research databases for researchers and research laboratories of the hub's affiliated agencies to the public and private sectors, as well as the general public.
